Thane man rapes 21-year-old over two years on pretext of marriage, arrested

Thane police have arrested a man who repeatedly raped a 21-year-old woman over two years on the pretext of marrying her. Last week, the victim approached the Wagle Estate police station and registered a complaint of rape against accused Shoaib Khan. The accused kept promising the victim that he would marry her, but since October last year as the victim asked him to marry her, he stopped taking her calls and responding to her messages. Finally, the victim approached Thane police and told them in her statement that Khan had raped her at his Gautam Nagar residence in Thane and at a hotel at Kasheli Bhiwandi on multiple occasions against her wish.
