A 21-year-old man in Karnataka died on Sunday after allegedly detonating a gelatin stick outside the house of a minor girl he was in a relationship with, police said. Her family, however, rejected his advances and were planning to marry her off to someone else once she reached legal age, according to police. Upset with the rejection, Ramachandra detonated a gelatin stick outside the girl’s house, dying instantly from the explosion. Police said his family’s involvement in quarrying might have given him access to the explosive material.
