MP Village Ostracises Native Girl for Marrying Pak Man
Deccan ChronicleBhopal: Anju Thomas who returned to India on Wednesday after ‘marrying’ her Facebook friend in Pakistan has been declared ‘persona non grata’ in her native village of Bona under Gwalior district in Madhya Pradesh by the locals for her ‘disgraceful act’. Villagers have vowed to stop her from entering the village for ‘bringing disrepute’ not only to her family but also to her native place by ‘marrying’ a Pakistan man after abandoning her two children and husband. Anju’s ex-classmate Dharmendra Gurjar said that she has forfeited her moral right to visit her native village after marrying a man in Pakistan and would not be allowed to visit the village ‘under any circumstances’. Her father Gaya Prasad Thomas, a tailor by profession, has already declared that ‘My daughter is as good as dead for my family’.
