Enigmatic Penguins forward Kasperi Kapanen on his frustrating season: ‘I know I need to be better’

New York Times

BOSTON — These are Mike Sullivan’s Penguins and Sidney Crosby’s Penguins. “No one puts more pressure on me than myself.” This season hasn’t been a disaster for Kapanen. “The frustration has started to kick in.” Kapanen’s first NHL season with the Penguins came during his second stint in the organization, after Jim Rutherford gave up plenty to get him back in Pittsburgh. I need to start doing some of those things.” It’s been an admittedly trying season for Kapanen, but he insists his family keeps his head on straight during his most difficult times. But, of course, I’d love to get out there and connect with Geno.” It’s only fitting, perhaps, that Kapanen and Malkin would have so much chemistry together.
