Man charged after allegedly threatening guard before stealing car and crashing into bus stop

ABC

A man has been charged for allegedly threatening a security guard at Adelaide's Keswick Barracks, before stealing the guard's car and crashing it into a bus stop. Police said the security guard was called to the barracks about 5:30am on Thursday to reports of an alarm, when he was confronted by a man armed with a knife. As police were responding to the Keswick incident, patrols received a call that the car had crashed into a bus stop on Anzac Highway at Glenelg East and a man ran from the scene. Police said they arrested a Christie Downs man, 27, and charged him with being unlawfully on premises, property damage, assault, theft, driving disqualified and driving without due care.
