
13 Gram Panchayats in Chamarajanagar district declared ‘TB-free’: DHO
The HinduAs many as 36 different national public healthcare programmes are being successfully implemented in Chamarajanagar district by the Department of Health and Family Welfare for the healthcare needs of the public. During the interaction with the media persons on the healthcare schemes currently being implemented here, Mr. Chidambar said, “Lifestyle diseases are on the rise, and a lack of physical activity is leading to the development of certain avoidable health issues. The department has been raising awareness about health schemes and educating the public on the importance of staying fit and healthy.” He said the district requires 11,000 units of blood but currently, it has only about 6,000 to 7,000 units. He said that 13 gram panchayats have been declared “tuberculosis-free”, and 35 more gram panchayats would also be declared “TB-free” soon.
