On January 8, Anjani Kumar Rai allegedly attempted suicide by jumping in front of a train at Dwarka metro station. This was another suicide adding to the list of suicides committed at metro stations in the national capital. In 2018, a total of 17 suicides took place at Delhi metro stations. A senior Delhi Metro official said that despite taking steps like installation of Platform Screen Doors, suicides continue to take place at Metro stations.
