PNB scam: CBI seeks proclaimed offender tag for fugitive Nirav Modi, his brother

The Central Bureau of Investigation has moved an application in the special CBI court asking that PNB scam accused diamantaire Nirav Modi, his brother Neeshal Modi and an associate Subhash Parab, be declared as proclaimed offenders. The application The investigating agency had shown the three accused as 'wanted', when the chargesheet in the multi-million-dollar PNB scam was filed. While Nirav modi has been arrested in London, whereabouts of his brother Neeshal and associate Parab are still not known. The CBI had registered cases against Nirav Modi and his relative Mehul Choksi in 2018 for cheating PNB by fraudulently obtaining letters of undertaking and defaulting on their payments.
