Andhra: Woman set on fire for rejecting man's advances pulls accused into fire, both die

A woman died after a man, infatuated with her, burned her alive after she rejected his advances in Andhra Pradesh's Vijayawada. Police said that the victim held on to the man as she was burning and as a result the accused also suffered 80 per cent burns and later succumbed to his injuries at the Government General Hospital in Guntur. The woman had lodged a complaint against the accused at a police station in Vijayawada on October 5, following which the man was called to the station and asked to sign an undertaking saying he would not harass her in the future. However on Monday, when the woman came from work, the man was waiting for her at her room and started threatening her for filing a police complaint against him.
