World No Tobacco Day: Prevent Lung Cancer by Quitting Smoking Right Now

Smoking is considered to be the most preventable cause of cancer and cancer deaths. Quitting smoking has many health benefits including reduced risk of cancer and also helps improve prognosis of cancer patients. Tobacco usage not only causes lung cancer but also causes cancers of the mouth and throat, voice box, esophagus, stomach, kidney, pancreas, bladder to mention a few. Persistent cough, chest pain, difficulty in breathing, blood in sputum, weight loss is some of the symptoms found among the patients with lung cancer. Apart from completely quitting smoking some of the other preventive measures for better lung health is to lead a healthy lifestyle, minimize exposure to high pollutants.
