Man allegedly armed with replica gun in Victoria Park accused of stealing car, breaking into house

A 36-year-old man has been charged after he allegedly threatened multiple people with a replica handgun in an inner Perth suburb, prompting police to urge residents to lock their doors. Officers were called to King George Street in Victoria Park around 8.10pm on Monday night following reports a man was demanding car keys from people while brandishing a replica firearm. When police found him, he allegedly pointed the gun at officers, causing them to draw their firearms and "take evasive action". The Bentley man faced Perth Magistrates Court later on Tuesday charged with a string of offences, including aggravated home burglary and armed robbery, stealing, carrying a controlled weapon and being armed in a way that may cause fear.
