With only 10% of ₹1,100 crore dues cleared, private hospitals halt Aarogyasri admissions

Private hospitals empanelled under the Aarogyasri scheme in Telangana have decided to withhold admissions under the scheme until their long-standing financial grievances are addressed. Dr. V. Rakesh, President of the Telangana Aarogyasri Network Hospitals Association, announced the decision on Friday, citing mounting financial strain due to unpaid dues from the state government. Speaking on the issue, Dr. Rakesh revealed that all 368 private hospitals under the scheme across the state would suspend services until their demands are met. This ₹1,100 crore is money we’ve already invested in treating patients, and the delay in reimbursements has become unsustainable for us,” Dr. Rakesh added.
