Man accused of sexually assaulting women on Sunshine Coast footpaths faces new charge

ABC

A man accused of sexually assaulting women as they exercised on the Sunshine Coast is facing a fresh charge after another alleged victim came forward. Simon Ricardo Barra Yaite, 20, was arrested last month and charged with three counts of sexual assault, with detectives alleging he inappropriately touched three women exercising on footpaths. Police allege the 20-year-old inappropriately touched four women in separate incidents on the Sunshine Coast. Police treating incidents 'seriously' Detective Acting Senior Sergeant Chris Duhig said the alleged assaults took place from behind and the women "had no indication of what was going to happen".
