Congress, Shiv Sena, NCP demand Maharashtra floor test on Sunday
India TodayThe Congress, Shiv Sena and the Nationalist Congress Party on Saturday filed a plea in the Supreme Court and demanded an urgent floor test on Sunday. The parties have requested an "immediate floor test within 24 hours so as to avoid further horse-trading and illegal maneuvers to somehow cobble up a majority from the MVA ". Asserting that the Shiv Sena, Congress and the NCP combine have the majority to form the government, the three parties have alleged that Governor Koshiyari administered the oath of the chief minister's post to Devendra Fadnavis without the BJP leader having the majority. The Shiv Sena-NCP-Congress combine on Saturday night filed a petition in the Supreme Court seeking quashing of the Maharashtra Governor's decision to swear-in BJP's Devendra Fadnavis as chief minister and demanded an immediate floor test to avoid "further horse-trading".
