Adivasis Donate Cow, Calf to Baby who Lost Mother

Adilabad: Members of the Adivasi community donated a cow and calf, named Avu and Legaduda, to support a newborn baby after her mother, Kanaka Jangu Bai, aged 25 died. The donation took place in Gubbe village, Ichoda mandal, Adilabad district, following Jangu Bai’s death on December 3. “The Rs.25,000 cash, along with the total donated amount, will be deposited under the Sukanya Yojana scheme in the newborn’s name,” Shekar Babu told Deccan Chronicle. The community’s efforts highlight the importance of collective responsibility and compassion, setting a poignant example of how traditional support systems can make a significant difference in individual lives.
