100 air tickets at 'low fares' offered to patients, elderly persons stranded due to closure of Jammu-Srinagar National Highway
India TV NewsKashmir Tickets Agents Forum Wednesday announced 100 air tickets at "low fares" to facilitate return to Kashmir of patients suffering from critical ailments and elderly persons, who were stuck in Jammu due to closure of the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway. The Jammu-Srinagar National Highway, the only all weather road linking the Kashmir Valley with the rest of the country, was reopened for one-way traffic on Tuesday after remaining closed for a week due to heavy snowfall and incessant rains in the region. "We the local Air ticketing agents forum of Kashmir would like to extend a helping hand to the stranded passengers at Jammu. We have decided to offer tickets at flat rate of Rs 2500- Rs 3500 as against the online fares of Rs 10,000-Rs 20,000 for Jammu-Srinagar sector only," president of the forum said in a statement.
