IFFI 2019: Rajesh Khanna and Sharmila Tagore's Aradhana to be screened at film festival in Goa
India TodayThe Rajesh Khanna and Sharmila Tagore-starrer Aradhana turned 50 this year, and to commemorate the milestone the 1969 film will now be screened at the International Film Festival of India in Goa. Aradhana, directed by filmmaker Shakti Samanta, is scheduled to be premiered under the segment called Golden Lining Indian Films at the film festival. While most films the list are regional language films, Aradhana along with Hrishikesh Mukherjee's directorial venture Satyakam represents Bollywood. Apart from Aradhana and Satyakam, the films which have been chosen for the screening at IFFI 2019 are as follows: Varakatnam; Telugu, Director: N. T. Rama Rao Dr Bezbarua; Assamese, Director: Brajen Barua Goopy Gyne Bagha Byne; Bengali, Director: Satyajit Ray Iru Kodugal; Tamil, Director: K. Balachander Nanak Nam Jahaz Ha; Punjabi, Director: Ram Maheshwary Stree; Oriya, Director: Siddharth Tambdi Mati; Marathi, Director: Bhalji Pendharkar Uyyale; Kannada, Director: N. Lakshminarayan Adimakal; Malayalam, Director: K. S. Sethumadhavan Sharmila Tagore had won her first Filmfare Award in the Best Actress category in 1970 for Aradhana.
