Jharkhand CM against conduction of Class 12 board exams amid Covid-19 crisis
India TodayJharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren has opposed the conduction of the Class 12 board exams in the middle of the pandemic after the central government announced yesterday that the board exams will not be cancelled for this academic session. The chief minister expressed his discontent over the conduction of the board exams and said that holding the Class 12 board exams in Jharkhand would not be possible due to the current Covid-19 situation in the state. Proposal for online exams Chief Minister Hemant Soren also said that the proposal to conduct the Class 12 board exams in online mode in the state has also been received, much to the relief of the students pushing for the cancellation of the exams. After suggesting the conduction of online exams for the students of Class 12, the chief minister further said, “I will send my detailed suggestion in writing to the Central Board of Secondary Education within two days.” In New Delhi, after an over-two-hour meeting chaired by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank said states and union territories have been asked to submit their detailed suggestions on the matter by May 25.
