Hours after Union Information Technology Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said Twitter had barred him from accessing his own account for nearly an hour on Friday, Twitter has confirmed that it did restrict the minister. Explaining the rationale for restricting Ravi Shankar Prasad, Twitter said, "Per our copyright policy, we respond to valid copyright complaints sent to us by a copyright owner or their authorised representatives." On Friday, Twitter temporarily blocked IT Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad's account for an alleged violation of the US Copyright Act.
