
Quick dinners and snacks for when you're hungry and in a hurry
ABCOptimistic dinner plans can be easily ruined by long ingredient lists, hard-to-follow instructions or that dreaded sentence: "Start this recipe the day before." His "favourite five-minute meal" is fresh buffalo mozzarella with good anchovies, olive oil and bread. "It's basically the unofficial national dish of broke uni students and people with debilitating hangovers," says Amy Hamilton, chef and owner of the current Gourmet Traveller's Bar of the Year, located in Albany, Western Australia. Sharon Salloum, who runs a Syrian restaurant in Sydney, likes to make "Arab Pizza": Middle Eastern flatbread topped with olive oil and za'atar, and oven-baked for a few minutes. Make cheat's versions Food writer and cookbook author Hetty McKinnon says her boys' favourite breakfast is a "five-minute wonder".
