Amanda Knox: A tip for sleeping better (and building character).

This is One Thing, a column with tips on how to live. The problem with side sleeping is that if you always sleep on the same side, you can cause problems with your shoulders and hips, having whichever side is touching the mattress disproportionately bear your weight. Swapping sides is also better for your mattress, as you won’t be making the same exact indentations each night. I’ve got my hand cream, my face lotion, my sleep mask, my earplugs, my book, my white noise machine, my phone charger. I’ve always been a great sleeper, so this may be my privilege talking, but you can learn to sleep without those things.
