Gig workers demand transparency and support from food delivery aggregator, call for fair pay and insurance guidance

Gig workers sat at a demonstration in Hyderabad on Saturday, demanding that a food delivery aggregator bring about greater transparency in releasing payouts and provide a strong support system to deal with insurance-related issues. In case of insurance, a lot of delivery workers do not know how it works and the company should ensure that guidance is given whenever required,” said Surendra Reddy who has been a gig worker since 2018 told The Hindu. The Telangana Gig and Platform Workers Union came out in support of gig workers and demanded the restoration of the old minimum payout guarantee.
