Dhanvantari Vana to come up in all district headquarters in State

Reiterating the State government’s support for the development of traditional healing practices, Forest Minister and Bidar in-charge Eshwar Khandre has said that steps will be taken to build Dhanvantari Vana, a nursery of medicinal plants, and community halls for Karnataka Paramparika Vaidya Parishath in all the district headquarters, as well as organise conferences on traditional medicine practices in every district. “There is a demand for setting up Dhanvantari Vana and community halls for Paramparika Vaidya Parishath and holding conferences on traditional healing practices in every district. I will discuss the demand with Forest officials and others concerned and take appropriate steps,” Mr. Khandre said after inaugurating a three-day State-level conference on traditional medicine at Beldale Convention Hall in Bidar on Sunday. Bidar South MLA Shailendra Beldale, Bidar Urban Development Authority chairman Basavaraj Jabshetty, District Guarantee Schemes Implementing Authority president Amritrao Chimkode, Karnataka Wildlife Board member Vinay Malage, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests Jagat Ram, Chief Conservator of Forests Sunil Panwar, Bidar Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer Girish Badole, Additional Deputy Commissioner Shivkumar Sheelvant, Karnataka Paramparika Vaidya Parishath president G. Mahadevaiah and others were present.
