POCSO case against BSY: Victim’s brother releases video seeking speedy justice

Yediyurappa to quash the chargesheet against him under provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012, dragging on for eight months now, the victim’s elder brother has appealed to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to take steps to ensure speedy justice. Under CID probe In March 2024, the Sadashivanagar police booked Mr. Yediyurappa under POCSO Act for allegedly sexually assaulting a 17-year-old girl on February 2, 2024, at his residence. Following this, the former Chief Minister filed a writ petition in the High Court appealing the court to quash the chargesheet against him in July 2024. Bilingual video In a five-minute Kannada-English bilingual video titled ‘Need for Justice’ posted on social media, the brother said he had taken to social media with deep sorrow as his family was undergoing difficult times.
