WHAT BOOK would writer Sophie Kinsella take to a desert island?

Daily Mail

... are you reading now? I’ve been a massive fan of the brilliant Rutshire Chronicles over the years — ever since I first read Riders — so I’m looking forward to finding out what Rupert, Taggie and all the other characters have been up to.... would you take to a desert island? I think if I were stranded on a desert island I would want reasons to laugh, so would take The Diary of a Nobody by George and Weedon Grossmith. Sophie would be looking for reasons to laugh if she were stranded on a desert island, so her top pick would be The Diary of a Nobody by George and Weedon Grossmith It is the fictional diary of Charles Pooter, a clerk in the city whose life is full of mishaps and embarrassments. I’ve watched the film versions of Charlie And The Chocolate Factory since then, but for me, nothing beats the direct impact of a great book.
