‘Bribe’ to Leh scribes: FIR against BJP leaders

Police on Wednesday registered an FIR against BJP leaders accused of trying to bribe journalists at Leh following a court order. Earlier, an inquiry, ordered by Leh deputy commissioner and district election officer Anvy Lavasa, had found the allegations against BJP leaders to be prima facie true. Leh press club president Morup Stanzin said BJP MLC Vikram Randhawa handed over envelopes to four journalists in the presence of Raina. Meanwhile, the Jammu and Kashmir unit of the BJP said it would set up a committee to probe the allegation that some party leaders tried to bribe journalists to influence parliamentary polls, party’s state unit chief Ravinder Raina said.
