Ahead of panchayat elections, WB police busts mega bomb-making unit in South 24 Parganas
India TodayAhead of the panchayat elections in West Bengal, a huge cache of bomb-making powder and arms has been busted in South 24 Parganas's Bhangar by officers of Baruipur Police. The police conducted a raid at the residence of a man named Nazrul Molla and recovered more than 15 kg of bomb-making gunpowder and other bomb-making materials. BOMB-MAKING ITEMS SEIZED The police have reportedly seized 11 kgs of ash colour powder like barood, 2.5 kg yellow colour powder, 2.5 kg white colour powder and 4.5 kg rope, 2.5 kg small iron plate, 3.5 kg iron nails, small pieces of iron sharp cutting and 25 packets caps from the possession of the accused. Meanwhile, four pieces of empty socket bomb structure, 17 pieces of empty metal containers, one long barrel of country-made firearms, four rounds of live ammunition, 25 pieces of 3ft iron pipe, one partial structure of firearms, three live socket bombs, 10 mobile phones, one live bomb were also recovered in the raid.
