Waterlogging, traffic snarls, road cave-in Lucknow

Heavy rains on Monday morning resulted in waterlogging and traffic congestion in Lucknow creating problems for the commuters. The rain water also entered the premises of UP Prison Minister Jai Kumar Singh's residence exposing the miserable condition of the drainage system in prime localities. Traffic congestions were reported at multiple places across Lucknow, including Gomti Nagar, Lohia Path, Hazratganj, Indira Nagar and other areas near chowk. UP chief secretary Anup Chandra Pandey held a video conference with all the commissioners and district magistrates across the state and have directed them to ensure that arrangements are made in every district so that minimum damage takes place due to heavy rains.
