Friend recalls Manmohan Singh's college days: Solved tough maths problems with ease

Tucked away in the labyrinth of narrow bylanes in Amritsar, a modest two-storey brick house stands as a silent witness to the early years of Dr Manmohan Singh. In a conversation with India Today TV, Hansraj Chowdhary, a former classmate of Singh at Hindu College, Amritsar, fondly reminisced about their shared days. Although they haven’t met in recent years, he cherishes an encounter when Singh instantly recognised him and greeted him by name after years apart. A college official recalled Singh’s visit during an alumni meet in 2018, where he left everyone pleasantly surprised by addressing his former teachers by name.
