Delhi court directs CBI to give three days prior notice to Congress MP Karti Chidambaram in fresh corruption case
The HinduA special court in Delhi on Friday directed the Central Bureau of Investigation to give three days prior written notice to Congress MP from Sivaganga of Tamil Nadu Karti Chidambaram in a fresh corruption case lodged against him. Special judge, Kaveri Baweja of the Rouse Avenue Court says the investigating agency, which is CBI in the said case, shall give three days written notice prior to the applicant in case his arrest is required after he joins the investigation of the case upon return to the country on February 1, 2025. In its FIR, the Central agency alleged that the Congress Lok Sabha member has given relief to alcoholic beverage company Diageo Scotland over a ban on the duty-free sale of its whisky. Ltd, “an entity controlled” by Karti P. Chidambaram and his close aide S. Bhaskararaman by Diageo Scotland and Sequoia Capitals, the CBI FIR said.
