India TodayMaharashtra Education Minister Varsha Gaikwad has said that the decision regarding the conduction of the Class 12 board exams or HSC exams in the state, which has been postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic, will be taken in one week. "The chief minister has called a meeting on Monday with the school education department and a decision regarding Class 12 board exams will be taken in a week’s time," the minister said, as per PTI reports. Varsha Gaikwad later said in a tweet, “Keeping in mind the ongoing pandemic situation, the projection that children are vulnerable to new strains of coronavirus, an option of a non-examination route for Class 12 students should be actively examined.” She also ensured that the health and well-being of the students and teachers is the top priority of the state government, as many parents have been expressing their concerns regarding the conduction of the board exams in the middle of the pandemic. I've given our initial feedback but have conveyed that I will hold further deliberations with the chief minister and legal experts on both CBSE and our own board exams.” Read: Jharkhand CM against conduction of Class 12 board exams amid Covid-19 crisis Read: #CancelExamsSaveStudents: Students unhappy with decision to conduct Class 12 board exams
