Closing TS decennial celebrations a big hit
Deccan ChronicleHYDERABAD: A rapturous mood prevailed across the state on Thursday as curtains came down on the Telangana state formation decennial celebrations. Visitors at the spot, including many from Andhra Pradesh, termed the day’s events a visual treat and especially hailed the drone show as a high-quality experience, as drones zipped across the sky to form the silhouettes of famous people, including that of K. Chandrashekar Rao. One of them said: “It was worth coming here, it’s like the Olympics closing ceremony.” The day-long event saw the participation of thousands of artistes, including Lambadi dancers, women marching carrying Bonam on their heads and a 60-member Sheeri band. T. Rohit, who came to Tank Bund from Dilsukhnagar, said: “It is like a huge festival across the Husainsagar; something or the other is happening.” Mani Kanta, an IT professional, who was visiting along with his friends from the West Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh, said: “We didn’t want to miss these celebrations. Telangana has progressed manifold in these nine years.” Shiva Shanker, a member of Jai Bhavani Sheeri band, said: “We are here since 6 am, as it’s an experience of lifetime.”
